9月22日 A Farewell Ode To Summer...alas it's not penned by me
Hello Everybody
I was listening to a song the other night, which was penned and sung, by one of Scotland's sons, a singer/songwriter comedian and Actor of some acclaim- non other than
"The Big Yin" or perhaps Billy Connolly to you.
yeah yeah I know, not everybody likes him, but he speaks my kinda language..he's also quite a visual comic... and his humour is borne of astute observation. The song I heard him singing, last night, summed up perfectly for me, what I was already thinking. I do believe that summer is nearly over...many of the folks will either be back, or indeed getting ready soon, to come home from their summer breaks.. Billy lives in America these days, but when he was a lad, his holiday destinations or away days, would be just a short train ride away...This song recounts, an old, and well rehearsed pastime "coming back home on the train, without a ticket-and no getting caught! <ahem>
